GigEagle is DoD's first AI-powered agile talent marketplace, operating at gigeagle.mil. It matches DoD personnel with specific skills to mission-critical "gigs" (4 hours to 90 days). It is the federal proof that talent-marketplace technology works at scale inside DoD — and it is the strongest single narrative anchor founding_up has for DoD-facing proposals.
GigEagle matches active-duty personnel to gigs during military service. founding_up already covers the pre-service end (HS dashboard presents military as a career pathway alongside college and direct workforce — CLEO helps a student explore whether service aligns with her identity before she ever talks to a recruiter) and the post-service end (veteran scholarship on the employer dashboard, military-skills-to-civilian-employer matching through SIGNAL verification). GigEagle + founding_up = the complete talent lifecycle from identity formation → military service → civilian transition. No one else covers that full arc. We are complement, not competitor.
| GigEagle (DoD) | founding_up Exchange Layer |
|---|---|
| AI matches personnel skills to mission needs | 31 algorithms match student identity signals to employer demand — verified, not claimed |
| Skills-based, not credential/MOS-based | SIGNAL measures Velocity / Imagination / Genius / Resonance / Gusto / Launch Signal |
| Surfaces "undiscoverable talent" | Identity Clarity Index reveals trajectory invisible to traditional hiring |
| Three user tiers (individual / unit / HQ) | Six-actor model (student, employer, university, HS ISD, foundation, WDB) |
| Real-time marketplace mechanics | Privacy is architecture, consent is bridge — Candidate #47 / Jordan R. until mutual opt-in |
| Expanding to academia + industry ("whole-of-nation") | Already connects academia + industry; military pathway built into HS dashboard |
| Short-term gig matching (4 hrs – 90 days) | Long-arc identity formation → Draft Day pre-commitment (sign-on bonus + 18-month employer commitment) |
GigEagle leadership has publicly stated the goal of expanding beyond DoD to include academia and industry for national security missions. That is exactly what founding_up does from the civilian side.
